I am looking for ancestral information for John Walker, sometimes called John Alexander Walker, who was born about 1650, and married Jane McKnight about 1678, and their children are John II, born about 1680, who married Katherine Rutherford, and Alexander, born about 1678, who married Janet Cowan. I know that John II took Alexander's children to Ireland, then on to America about 1725, but have no information on what happened to Alexander or Janet, and why they didn't go with their children to America. Some sources say that John Alexander went with them, but then returned to Wigton (Wigtown), Scotland later, where is is supposed to have died. John II and Katherine lived the rest of their lives in VA. Some of Janet's brothers went with them to America, but I don't have any more information than that. I am mostly interested in Alexander's ancestry, as that's supposed to be where my family comes from. I have been able to find much information on John II, but no credible sources for anything before John Alexander. I would love to get that information too. I have been told that the Walker clan is from the Highlands of Scotland, but haven't been able to tie my family there, so far. Some say that the Walker clan is a part of clan MacGregor, and others say it's of Stewart of Appin. I would love to clarify that too. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Two of their children were: 1) Mary Durkin, b. abt. 1830, Mayo. Said to have emigrated to New Orleans. She married at least three times and supposedly owned property on Dauphine Street in the French Quarter. 1) John Durkin, b. abt. 1832, Mayo; he married Mary Waldron, b. abt. 1827, Ballyhaunis, Mayo. Their marriage date and place is unknown. What is known: they were living in New York, New York, when Mary died on 26 Dec 1857 after giving birth to twin daughters. John Durkin served in the Civil War as a Private in the Fighting 69th New York Volunteers. He died 17 January 1888 in New York, New York.

Does anyone have information regarding the family of Carl Henke, born Feb.22,1843 in Pommern, possibly in or near the village of Damgardt. The area is currently a part of Poland and is near the Baltic coast and the city of Kolberg. Carl was the son of Carl Henke and Maria Mott (Henke), and grandson of Christ. Henke. He immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1866 and settled in central Wisconsin near the home of his Uncle, Franz Henke. Franz immigrated circa 1836 and is known to have been living in Wisconsin after 1860. My Great-grandfather was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. His name is BARENTT (I don't know if that is spelled right) CHRISTENSEN. I know he has family in Copenhagen still, a brother for sure, (not really sure if he would still be alive.) He went back one time to visit him. He married Gertrude Marie on his visit to the US ... and made his visit permanent. In Denmark he lived or worked on Molbeck's farm. When he moved to the US, Christensen was a popular name so he changed his last name to Molbeck. I know his wife, Gertrude, kept in contact with family members in Denmark until she fell ill. My GGGG Grandfather was Edward Brown. He came from Ireland with his two brothers Patrick and Luke in the late 1860's. They settled in Sheildsville Minnesota. Edward Married Mary Obrien. They had a son Edward H Brown. He married Mary Margaret Casey. (Her parents were Thomas Casey and Catherine Kelly) Edward and Mary had 3 Daughters, Grace, Lou, and Rose (my great-grandmother). Is anyone out there researching the name Wollschlaeger? My great-grandfather was Jozef Wollschlaeger (in the U.S. he was called Joseph Oslager). His death certificate gives Tuchola as his place of birth. He was born in 1837. At his marriage to my great -grandmother in Waldowo in 1867, he gives his home as Melanowo, which may be in the parish of Goersdorf. After they were married,they had twins and my grandmother Wyktoria, according to family stories. I cannot seem to find where they were living before their passage to the U.S. in 1871. Dear Sir /Madam, I am trying to find information on my German Great grandfather, I new him as Fredrich Wilhelm Paul ARNOLD, BORN 16-10-1890, Harburg in the province of Hanover (this could have been an Alias name). From all my research that I have collected I feel that his name may have even been Fritz/ Fredrich Hamann born 16 - 10 1890 while he lived in Germany. I am looking for info on a bunch of my ancestors but here I must choose which ones I want to list. Let's make it the ancestors of four sisters - Sonia, Gnelya, Vera, and Dora Slavins, from Belorussia, possibly all born there in 1890-1905, Sonia-either in 1895 or in 1898, something like that, in Rechytsa which means that I can only guess that her siblings were born in the same town. Sonia is my mother's mother's mother who relocated to Kishinev, Moldova around 1918, to create a family there with Ikhiel Revich, from Bessarabia, possibly Kishinev, with whom she bore two daughters-Hannah and Haya. Hannah is my mother's mother (1919-1990). Sonia and Ikhiel owned a restaurant in the center of Kishinev until early 1930s when he passed away from a heart attack at a fairly young age. Sonia's sister, Dora had immigrated to Chicago long before that, probably around 1920. Gnelya perished in Belorussia several years later during the war but we don't know what city there, what year, with possibly what other members of her family and under what circumstances. We don't know even married last names of all Sonia's sisters. My mother guesses that Gnelya must have been killed with her own family, somewhere outside of Rechytsa in Belorussia since the on-line Albert Kaganovich list of Jewish victims in Rechytsa of that era does not mention anyone by the name Gnelya (this may not be a full list though). Yad Vashem in Israel in Israel and the U. S. Holocaust museum have no information on that woman either, and if anyone has info on the life and death of Gnelya Slavin and/or the ancestors of all four sisters, please contact me at:

I know very little about him. His name at birth was Eugene Baird Jr. His mother's name was Catharine (Maybe Kathleen). Apparently my father and she ended on bad terms, so he may not even know his father is not his biological one. He was born in the south. Most likely Alabama. Maybe Georgia. He had contact with my grandfather (Donald Baird) and my aunt Carol Heuges and my grandma (Clara Cox). The only thing I have of him is a picture of him as a baby sitting in front of the piano in my grandma's old house (In Georgia or Alabama). I don't know if this will do anything, but I pray that somehow I find him.

I am looking for help in finding some information on my great grandfather. His name was Joseph Suess; his parents were George and Anna Suess from the New Ulm. He was married to Theresa Tragner and they had five children; however I believe that Theresa may have not been his first wife. He disappeared during the Depression and I have found no records of him after that; its as if he vanished into thin air. I know from the 1930 census he was still living with Theresa but after that I am at a dead end. I have also searched death records in Minnesota but none of them seem to match up.

In the 1930 US Federal Census my great grandfather's place of birth in 1857 was listed as "Rhine Prise" in Germany. The "Prise" handwritten word is not clear. I would like to know where this place is. Can you help as I have not yet been successful in finding his birth place.
