I am looking for the source of the name Baack. My great-grandfather came from Germany, went to Garner, Iowa, and later onto Montana. My grandmother was Helen Margaret Baack born in Garner, Iowa. Later she homesteaded in Montana; married in Montana, living and dying in Great Falls, Montana. I realize there is no German spelling matching Baack. Our school, Central Visayan Institute is one of the oldest in the province. Thomas Stansberry and Elizabeth ? were the parents of Francis Marion Stansberry born 1844 in West Virginia. Thomas died about 1887. Thomas's parents were Mary Randolph and Thomas Madison Stansberry.
