Isadore Berkowitz landed on Ellis Island between 1895 and 1900--he was a stone cutter (or mason) and was from Bucharest, Romania (Rumania). Isadore married Rebecca and lived on Bergen Street in Brooklyn, New York, as well as in Manhattan, New York City (at various times). Isadore was beaten to death up by a street gang in the early 1900's. I'm looking for help in locating all of Isadore's offspring, since the family has splintered into many groups by now, who have no knowledge of each other. One of Isadore's sons (one of two), my grandfather, Jack Berkowitz, was in the US army during WWI.

1.) My great-grandfather, A. G. Brown (may have been Alfred Gallatin Brown) appeared in Mississippi at age 14, a runaway. We have no clue as to his parents are other than his father died and his mother (Elizabeth Lord or Lloyd) remarried a Mixson or Mixon in Alabama, possibly in Mobile. 2.) My husband's great-grandfather immigrated from Ireland to Jasper County, Mississippi. I am searching for information and death certificate and autopsy report on my father: Ronald Max Barboza, He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 9, 1947 and died between the 18th and 19th of February 1994, he was residing in a prison at the time of his death, I think the prison was called Shirley Medium or maybe some other place. Two years before his death the prison was returning my letters that I had wrote to him, he was in Vermont doing his time and was about to get out on parole than the State of Massachusetts returned him to there saying that they had some kind of gun charge on him, when they transferred him I never heard from him again until his death. The family tried to get in contact with the hospital to identify the body but the police would not let anyone for they said that he was theirs to do what they wanted and then they cremated him and we got the ashes months later, I tried calling the doctor who did the autopsy report and when I first called he said it was a hanging, then I was surprised for the prison told us he died of a heart attack due to blockage. I then proceeded to tell the autopsy doctor that I was told that my father died of natural causes, he then told me to hang on and I did for fifteen minutes and then came back to tell me that he made a mistake and it was a Robert Max Barboza that was hanged and my father did die of natural causes, I then requested a copy of the autopsy report, he said he would mail it for I was next of kin, his first born, I waited, nothing. I then wrote a letter and requested the autopsy report and still nothing and nothing to this day. The Autopsy Doctors last name was Dr. Winer or Wyner in Brockton, Mass. I also called Brockton Hospital, when I called the hospital they told me he was dead on arrival, and that he was already dead when the emergency ambulance picked him up from the prison, I then proceeded to call the prison back and they said differently. As you can see I am confused and I don't know the truth and I wish to seek the truth for my father spent 27 years in prison for a crime I believe he did not commit. His father's name was John or Joseph Barboza not too sure for I always called him Voo Voo and my grandmother Vo Vo, the only reason I know my grandmothers first name is because I was named after her. His Mother's name was Emily Barboza, he has a brother named John Barboza who resides in Rhode Island, 2 sisters named Delores Barboza - Arruda and Theresa Barboza who currently reside in Somerset, Massachusetts. My father was the youngest of all. If you can come up with any information it would be greatly appreciated. I have been doing a search on him since the day that he died. I don't believe that he died of natural causes. The weird thing is that he died the same date as he went into prison, just years later, he went in on Feburary 18, 1968 or 1969 and then died I'm most certain on the evening of the 18th or early morning on the 19th. No one will give me any information... I'm not sure if my father had remarried, but I am his first born and I am next of kin and I really need information, just so I can be a peace and my father, the truth has to come out. Someone please help me.
