    • Johann Adam SCHUTZ (Hunter Lists #705). Johann Adam Schutz made his initial appearance on the Hunter Lists 30 June 1710 with 3 persons over 10 years of age and 1 person under 10 in the family. The household was registered with 3 persons over 10 years on 4 0ct 1710. Hans Adam Schiets was naturalized 22 Nov 1715 (Albany Naturalizations). Hanss Adam Schutz and Anna Catharina with 1 child were at Neu-Ansberg ca. 1716-1717 (Simmendinger Register). Jonn Adam Sheetz was on the first tax list at Tulpehocken 10 Jan 1725 (1721-1973 Anniversary Magazine of the Tulpehocken, p. 54). Papers in the estate of Hans Adam Shuts were issued to his relict Susannah Shuts 2 Dec 1740 (Philadelphia County Administration book D, page 144); my copy of this document is damaged, so it is not clear if Susannah was his widow or daughter (HJ). A child of Johann Adam1 Schutz was: 1) Susannah2 (HJ), a spouse to Peter Glopp at Schoharie in 1716 (west Camp Lutheran Church book), unless that Susanna was the 2nd w/o Johann Adam2 (HJ). A Susanna married Johann Jacob Seibert at Tulpehocken 7 June 1741 (Stoever Church books). The distinguished Pennsylvania genealogist Raymond M. Bell reports that Jacob Seibert originated at Eitzweiller near Wolfersweiler and came to America in 1738. Perhaps a descendant of this emigrant was the Adam Shitz of Tulpehocken whose will was dated 2 February 1789 and probated 11 March 1796 (Berks Co. Will Bk. B, p. 458) the will names his children and a brother named Peter Shitz (HJ). There were other early Schutzes in the area, including the Johann William Schutz 12 May 1734 - 29 July 1796, buried at Millardsville, Pennsylvania. Contributed by Pamela S. Schutt <crystalnighthwk-at-yahoo.com>.
