Natalie D.
Cottrill, BA, a full-time professional
genealogy researcher in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a native of Columbus,
Ohio. She has been fully engaged in this career since 1989.
Ms. Cottrill h as been a member of the Association of Professional
genealogists since 1994, and is always striving to contribute to the profession. She served as the
Course Coordinator and Lecturer for the 2004 Salt Lake Institute of
Genealogy's course entitled "Becoming a Successful Professional," which
was well-received. Her lectures
within the longer list of classes included, "The Right Stuff - Personality
Traits of an Entrepreneur," "Profit - What's That? Money Basics for
Business," "Operational and Support Tasks: More than Meets the Eye," and
"Billable Time - What is It? How Can I Maximize It?"
Natalie attended Ohio University (Athens, Ohio),
Ohio State (Columbus, Ohio), and graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts
(Music) degree, summa cum laude, from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1985.
In 1988 Ms. Cottrill obtained a Graduate Diploma in Music Performance
from the St. Louis Conservatory (St. Louis, Missouri). Since 1981, she
has also completed significant coursework in business, mathematics,
philosophy and computer science.
She has been President and CEO of ProGenealogists since
its inception in 1998, and continues to work with her colleagues to build
tools to promote research and customer service excellence within this organization. She is
currently pursuing professional certification.
In 1997, Natalie published a book of her genealogy research on the
Woodruff and McManus ancestries entitled The Ancestors and Descendants
of Willis Calvin and Clara (Woodruff) McManus. She is currently working on
compiling a publication documenting the Descendants of Henry Tewksbury and
Martha Copp of Amesbury, Massachusetts. She is the

researcher for several web sites displaying her research endeavors with her

Natalie is the recipient of the 2006-2007 America's
Who's Who Registry of Outstanding Professionals. Inclusion is limited to
the individuals who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their
