Meredith Maxfield, BA (Family History)
Meredith Maxfield, BA (Family History) recently finished her Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University. She is now a full-time genealogical researcher for ProGenealogists in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Meredith grew up in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts, and enjoyed learning all she could about the history of the United States from the historical sites that surrounded her. Her love of British history motivated her to do a study abroad in London as a first semester sophomore. In London she discovered how fascinating and exciting family history is. Meredith immediately enjoyed combining her love of history with her logic and problem solving skills.
When Ms. Maxfield returned to BYU she worked on the Mormon Immigration Index and did research with Dr. Kip Sperry. She also has volunteered at the New England Historic Genealogical Society. As a junior she returned to Great Britain on an internship to do research for the BYU Immigrant Ancestors Project. She was able to research and study original documents in record offices and libraries all over England and Wales.
Meredith specializes in New England and British research. Recently she has expanded to other parts of the United States, including the Mid-Atlantic, Eastern, and Mid-Western States. Meredith is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG).
