Luana Darby, BA (Family History)
Luana Darby grew up listening to her grandmother’s stories about growing up in Kansas in the early 1900s. This piqued her interest and developed into a passion to learn more about her roots, which turned into a successful business helping others find and tell their story. For over twenty five years, Luana Darby has built a solid reputation as a trusted and competent genealogical researcher. She is committed to providing quality service to the community. She believes that a reputation as an honest and reliable researcher is the recipe for success. Luana received her Bachelors degree in Family History from Brigham Young University and currently is pursuing a Masters degree at San Jose State University.
Luana is the current president of the Utah Genealogical Association and is active in several other professional organizations including the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Ohio Genealogical Society. She has spoken at conferences held by ICAPGen, BYU, UGA and, as of April 2010, the 2010 National Genealogical Society. She also served as Assistant Director of the Welby West Jordan Family History Center for eight years.
Her research expertise includes the United States, Canada, and Western Europe, with a special interest in tracing Germans who settled in Colonial Pennsylvania. On-site research in many Midwestern and Eastern states has given her an appreciation of the many records that help solve even complex research cases.
