Irish Civil Registration at the Family History Library

The Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City, Utah, holds a large microfilm collection of Irish civil registration (birth, marriage and death) records and indexes. The FHL microfilm may be accessed in Salt Lake City or through the many LDS Family History Centers worldwide.
Many early Irish birth and marriage records have also been extracted into two sources compiled by the Genealogical Society of Utah (LDS Church): (1) the International Genealogical Index, which is available online at http://www.familysearch.org; and (2) the CD-Rom called the Vital Records Index - British Isles (2nd Edition (Salt Lake City, UT: Intellectual Reserve, Inc., 2001), compiled the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
There are significant gaps in the FHL's collection of the civil registration books themselves, although the series of indexes is complete to 1958. The FHL's collection includes the following:
