Manors
I have not yet checked to see what records exist or if other manors owned property in Kimcote Parish, but following are two manors found within the parish:
Willoughby de Broke was the lord of the manor and patron of the rectory. Manor held by:
- 1475 John Champernon, descendant of the Roald Family
- John Champernon's daughter Blanche married Robert Willoughby, lord Broke.
Cotes de Val manor was once a very large mansion as shown by remains of vaults and foundations of buildings. The back and ends are encompassed by a mote. This manor was held by:
- 14th century: Cotes Family
- Later Palmer, Poultney, Crompton, Oakley, and Ashley Families
- 1760 Thomas Pares, Esq.
