Welcome to the Great Britain genealogy research website of ProGenealogists^® Europe! We sincerely hope that our website will help you begin the exciting quest of learning more about your British ancestors. Here, you'll find information on genealogical research in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as a number of other resources dealing with immigration to other countries. The peoples of Great Britain set down roots all across the globe, and as a result there are English, Scottish and Welsh descendants in diverse places such as Ireland, South Africa, India, Australia, United States, Canada and South America.

Great Britain is one of the best areas of the world in which to be tracing one's ancestry. Excellent records have been kept for centuries for our ancestors in England, Scotland and Wales and at this site we aim to introduce you to the some of the basic components of research in these countries. Many of these records have been microfilmed and or digitized and placed online, enabling anyone with an interest in their British family history to begin exploring their ancestral origins. However, do remember that although there has been an explosion of resources now available online, there is still a vast number that remain in various repositories and archives and have yet to be either filmed, digizited or abtracted in any form. As our website continues to expand we'll explore some of these resources in our "Topics" section.

Many of you visiting this site will undoubtedly be tracing the origins of your British immigrant ancestors. In many cases, it will be very important to document your ancestor in the country to which they emigrated in order to begin researching them back in Great Britain. Often, it is necessary to have a specific place of origin to be known before research in British resources will be effective. With this mind we will also be setting up related sites assisting those whose ancestors ended up in Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Caribbean. We already have a very extensive Ireland website up and running.

At ProGenealogists, we research British families and immigrants on a regular basis. Even with all the available resources online, it often needs an expert with many years of experience to further extend an ancestry. One particularly common request is to discover the origins of immigrants and we have all the tools and experts at our disposal to find the desired answers. Among other topics we have covered are Medieval research and Nobility and Gentry research, of which there are few true experts. Additional areas where we've particularly excelled is in big city research and common surname research. Of course, not every genealogical problem is solvable, but if the answer is out there we'll find it.
