The following is a list of the locations of Roman-Catholic and Evangelical
Reformed parishes in Mecklenburg- Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz. For the
older parishes, this listing indicates what vital records existed as of 1935.

D = Deaths/Burials
* = indicates no records are available at the Family History Library. In those
cases where records are records have been microfilmed they often do not cover
the full range of years that were available in 1935.
Roman Catholic
Roman Catholicism was not well established in Mecklenburg until the twentieth
century. The most significant early congregations were in the cities of
Schwerin, Neustrelitz, Rostock, Ludwigslust, and Bützow. For each parish, the
founding date of the parish is given in parentheses.

Evangelical Reformed
The Reformed protestant faith was established in the city of Bützow. These
Protestants did not follow the teachings of Martin Luther. The French
Protestants were Huguenots. The German Protestants followed similar tenets
established by Swiss religious reformers.
