Difficult Lineages
Difficult lineages are those that will simply take a good bit of time to solve. We feel confident that most ancestries can be developed and documented for Canada, the U.S. and Western Europe back to 1700. Earlier research and other countries (Latin America and Eastern Europe, for instance) require a fair amount of time and diligence and may even require on-site research. Generally, difficult lineages are those that:
- have already been researched extensively with few or poor results
- involve common surnames
- include pre-1870 immigration or frequent migrations during the same period
- are being researched in areas where records have been destroyed
- occur during pre-1700 world history
