Alsønderup Parish

Gary T. Horlacher

Alsønderup Parish is in Strø District, in Frederiksborg County. Alsønderup Parish is located in the northern part of the island of Sjælland and was an annex parish to Tjæreby Parish on the south. In 1700 it had 4 villages, 4 complete farms, 28 half farms, 196 males (67 under ten). The land was owned almost exclusively by the crown, with a small part owned by the church (no private land owners in 1700).

Church Records Begin: 1709
Place names: Tulstrup, Neide, Alsønderup, Bendstrup, Strøegaard, Tøbberup, Taagerup, Hermandslet, Tøberupshus
Estates: This whole region was part of the Frederiksborg Rytter Distrikt (Cavalry District) and the land was owned by the crown.
Progress Summary: Only the records from about 1690-1714 have been extracted so far since this is a critical time period just prior to the first church records. The genealogy of most of the families in this parish in the earliest church records has been compiled by Susan White of Pocatello, Idaho and hopefully we will be able to add that information under the compiled lists soon. There are wonderful probate records and copyhold records for this area which should be added later. I am thinking to begin with just to link the probates to the images of the probate index. The earlier lists and additional jordebøger could also be added.
