Christine Sharbrough, CG
Christine Sharbrough, a Massachusetts native, is a Certified GenealogistSM currently residing in the Utah Valley. She has been engaged as a professional genealogist since 1992 and since then has served in a variety of roles in the genealogical community including program co-chair for the New England Regional Genealogical Conference (NERGC) for 2007 and 2009; blogger and editor of the Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society’s (AAHGS) national bimonthly publication AAHGS News for 2007-2009; blogger and editor of the Massachusetts Genealogical Council’s (MGC) newsletter as well as board member and former program director; webmaster for several USGenWeb and WorldGenWeb websites including County Roscommon, Ireland; member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and former Chapter Representative for the New England Chapter of APG; and volunteer for the New England Historic and Genealogical Society (NEHGS) in their transcription projects and within the Research Services Department.
Currently, Christine is writing an updated biography and catalog raissonne on American Renaissance artist Cyrus E. Dallin in collaboration with the Cyrus E. Dallin Art Museum in Arlington, Massachusetts and the Springville Museum of Art in Springville, Utah. This research is based on a paper presented at the undergraduate Art History Symposium at the Whistler House Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2007. Other writing projects include many published articles in the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly, NGS Magazine, MGC’s Newsletter, AAHGS News, Columns, a publication of the IFSHWE, and the USGenWeb’s newsletter.
Christine is a graduate student in the Master of Science program for Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archival Management at Drexel University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where she was granted a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a dual major in Art History and Legal Studies. In addition, Christine holds an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration from Bentley University and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, running, and lecturing on random art historical, genealogical, historical, and writing topics as well as teaching art appreciation and basic computing skills and reading.
