Canada Genealogy Research
Welcome to the Canada genealogy research website of ProGenealogists® North America! Here you will find a great deal of information that can help you pin down your Canadian heritage. Canada, like any other immigrant country, is a nation of diverse origins. Significant immigrant groups to this part of the world include English, Scottish, Irish, French, German and Eastern European peoples. Canada historically was, and still is, home to a number of Indian tribes. Further, the extensive border with the United States has allowed for significant migration between the two countries, meaning that Canada is a nation as ethnically and racially diverse as any other.
This website is a constantly on-going project that aims to educate and inform about the crucial resources that exist in Canada. If you’re new to Canadian research you may wish to peruse our Canadian Sleuth page that contains links to hundreds of resources. We are also introducing province-specific pages that will outline resources specific to those locations. Please do stop by regularly as the site expands and new content becomes available.
If after researching your Canadian ancestors you reach a brick wall, we’ll be there to help. At ProGenealogists we have a team of dedicated and experienced researchers who can study your Canadian heritage for you. We have access to many millions of records both online and at many repositories around the world. If you would like a free estimate, please feel to contact us any time. Happy hunting!
