Timothy BARNHOUSE, b.bef. 1731, d. 1764. md. Elizabeth, d. 1786. They had the following children: Jane, Angela, William, Elizabeth, Ann and a daughter who married William DIXON by 1786. Tim's age was derived by subtracting 12 years (2 years between the births of each child) from the last possible year that Timothy could have had children (1764-12=1752). Then, I subtracted 21 years from 1752 (age of legal marriage) to get 1731 - the year by which time Timothy had to have been born.

BIOGRAPHY: "Earliest Settlers Western Frederick - Eastern Hampshire Counties in Virginia Their Descendants, by Grace Kelso Garner, From the Evens Family, page 15 and 16.
Information from Biography:
"Martha Evans married Jan 16, 1799, Berkeley Co VA, Richard Barnhouse. They probably married late in life, and there is no record that they had any children. Richard Barnhouse only lived about four years after they married. The appraisal of his estate is recorded Oct. 26, 1803, Berkeley Co. Deed Book #4, page 10. Martha Evans was adinnistrator. Jan. 26, 1801, Richard Barnhouse made oath with John Fryatt and Thomas Hale to prove the will of John Evans, Jr., which is recorded in Berkeley Co. Will Book #3 pp. 359-361. Since it has been stated that John, Jr. had four brothers, then it would seem logical that one or more of them would have given oath to prove his will. A search of the records of his brothers reveals that, of the four of them, Isaac Evans had died in 1793. The other three, Gabriel, Joseph, and Squire were living in Kentucky at the time of his death. The absence of his brothers in the area at the time made it necessary for some other person or persons, close of kin, to bear witness of his death. Of the three who were witnesses, it is a known fact that John Fryatt, husband of Elizabeth Evans, was a brother-in-law of John Evans, Jr. Since Richard Barnhouse was married to Martha Evans at the time, it seems likely that she was a sister of John, Jr., and that Richard Barnhouse was also a brother-in-law.
Very little information has been found about Richard Barnhouse in Berkeley County. No doubt other records of him exist elsewhere before he moved to Virginia, but they have not been located. By the time Richard Barnhouse moved to Virginia, he was already a wealthy, adult man. Recorded in Berkeley County Deed Book #12, May 5, 1791, is the information that he made oath before the Justice of the Peace that he brought 8 slaves into the state for his own use. Their names were: Joseph, Sarah, Lilly, Anne, Ellah, Bobert, Tilly, and Presley Gevers. Also found in the records is the fact that he had a brother, Caleb Barnhouse.
There are a few deeds that reveal that Richard Barnhouse bought and sold some property. In fact, he purchased from Col. Charles Washington (brother of George) and his wife, Mildred, lot #125 on Washington Street in Charles Town, now West Va., Dec. B, 1792, for 150 lbs. He sold this lot Jun. 27, 1798, for 230 lbs., to Huth & Co., six months before he married Martha Evans. No further records of Richard Barnhouse have been found that contribute significantly to the information already presented.
