My Great, Great, Great Grandmother, Elisabeth Barnhouse, b. 19 SEP 1800, married Daniel Roshon SR, 02 MAY 1822. She died 18 MAY 1846 and is buried in Shanesville Cemetery, Sugar Creek Ohio. I have no other information on her other than a cryptic reference to her being of Cherokee extraction. Can anyone help me capture her family line?

I am looking for information on Clayburn Bland.  I have info that he might have lived in Canada but can't be sure yet. The Bland name comes up for Virginia in the Barnhouse archives but it is still under construction so I can't seem to go any further, if there is any information out there I would appreciate you contacting me at my friends email address as I am not on line yet.  He was buried in Parkesburg, PA and apparently lived in Otonabee Township, Ontario, Canada at some point. He lived in Chester county, Coatesville, PA at some point as he was buried there.

I have been trying to find information on James L. Coonts. He was born September 15, 1807 in Virginia. He married a woman named Elizabeth? They lived in Parke, Indiana in 1839 or sooner. I have a lot of the family after that. The two of them had 10 kids and I can't locate all of them. I have a few. Austin Coonts was in the Civil War, Douglas County, Missouri Home Guard. Clark Coonts Died shortly after getting out of War. Clarks' wife Died also and James and Elizabeth took the two small children to raise as their own. They owned a good size amount of land. It was called Coonts Holler, and is on hunting maps still today as such. James L. Coonts is my great-great-grandpa. He is buried in New Hope Cem. Douglas County, Missouri, close to Drury, Missouri. Can we trade information? How can I send you information so you can see if we are related?

I am the step daughter of Daniel Barnhouse, Son of Wayne Barnhouse, who was the son of Melville Barnhouse. He and his twin brother Marshall were the twin sons of James and Mary Mccount Barnhouse. My father was Joel Barnhouse, born in Milam Co., Texas in 1913. His father was James Howard Barnhouse, birth date unknown but was in 1870's or '80's. His family moved to Milam County Texas in the early 1870's from Iowa. My Great Grand Father's name I do not know, but he married a Christine Wheeler. I have a Henry Wheeler photo with wife, and a Nancy Sturm with child, made in Menno, North Dakota. I believe that Nancy was a Barnhouse. Looking for information on Elizabeth Barnhouse who married Daniel Roshong, 2 May 1822, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Who were Elizabeth's parents? I found Elizabeth's grave in Shanesville Cemetery at Sugar Creek, Ohio. She died 18 May 1846 age 46y 2m 29da. Buried near Elizabeth is John Barnhouse. Died 12 July 1829 age 55y 5m 9d. You state that Wm. Rodney McLaughlin (son of Rebecca Ann Cottrill) married Lucille Lyon in 1933 and died in Mexico in 1936.  My dad, Michael McLaughlin, is Rodney's son. The death certificate he saw said Rodney died in Huston, TX. (See guest book Nov. 8, 1998). Could you double-check that information and let us know? Thanks!

Can you Help ! Looking for Mary Jane Barnhouse who married Andrew Jackson Simon (Simon could't be spelled different). There are no dates or places. I found some info on the Decendants of John Barnhouse of Randolph Co., West Virginia, 5th generation that I think could be the lost Barnhouse that I am looking for. I am looking for Edward Elmer Barnhouse who was born in April 1865 in Virginia, possibly Loudoun Co, Va. He married Loretta M. Smith abt 1886. They lived at various times in VA, WV and MD where their children were born. He may have changed his name to Barnhouser as his son Sidney Francis Barnhouse went by the name Joseph Barnhouser. Family stories say Joseph was sent to an orphanage where he received a Catholic name. Edward was supposed to be a Mason who moved to Florida and died in a Masonic home there. His wife Loretta died in 1902 in Cumberland, Allegany Co, MD.

Does anyone have information on Julianna Barnhouse, b. 14 Mar., 1791 Loudoun Co., VA? She was married 4 times! 1st to Jacob Schauer, presumably in Loudoun Co. around Lovettsville. I would like to know the date of their marriage and whether they had any children. She married 2nd to William Kendel, 10 Jun., 1811 in Loudoun Co. They apparently went westward, as Julianna married 3rd to Thomas Mathews, on 23 Jul., 1828 in Harrison Co., OH. She married 4th to Isaac Hibbs on 26 Mar., 1844 in Carroll Co., OH. What I'm most interested in is her marriage to William Kendel. One of their children, Rease/Reason Kindle, is my husband's direct ancestor. I am looking for Jacob Barnhouse. he was married to Martha Brandt. I believe they were in Ohio at some time. They had a daughter, Lydia Ann, she married Jacob Allshouse in Green Co. Wisconsin on Nov. 5, 1851. Lydia and Jacob Allshouse then moved to Jones Co. Iowa where she died on July 29, 1912.

Marilyn Holzworth compiled a list of Barnhouses in St. Francis, Cheyenne Cty, KS. Included are some names I have never seen before. Isaac P. Barnhouse b 1849 in VA Nina Barnhouse b. 1879 IA June Barnhouse b. 1882 IA Maynard Barnhouse b. 1883 IA Reginald Barnhouse b. 1885 IA I believe Isaac was the father of the four children. Has anyone ever heard of these given names? I know Lily Barnhouse was born in 1867 in IA when her parents were on the way from Noble Cty, OH to Gage Cty, NE. I have always wondered if they didn't stop with relatives who may have been Brooks or Barnhouses.

Do you have any further information on Forest Crown? I'm searching for anything on my great-great grandmother's family, Mary Ann Crown (married Henry Michael) and believe that she had brothers Frederick (married Henrietta Thomas from Buckeystown) and John, and that her father was also named Frederick. Frederick and Henrietta's sons (at the time of the Civil War) seemed to move back and forth between Berryville, VA and the Point of Rocks area; they rode with the 35th VA Cavalry.
