Name: Douglas Allen Dixon Hello, My name is Douglas Allen Dixon I am currently serving in Iraq and have decided to devote my spare time to research my family tree. I am new at this and was hoping you could assist me. All I know of my fathers family is that he Ronnie Lee Dixon was born the illegitimate son of Helen Dixon from Carroll County Ohio, since both are deceased and they never spoke of their ancestry I really have no where else to begin except with there names. Hopefully there is a relationship with your family. Could you please point me in the right direction. any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Douglas A. Dixon. Name: Karin Nickola My great grandparents were Ulysses Grant and Sophia Katherina (Holstad) Barnhouse. I know very little about either of them...only that they lived near Plentywood, Montana in about 1915...and that they were living in Elkhart, Illinois in 1900. Their children were Harriet (my grandmother), Ulysses Grant, and Virginia. Does anyone have any information about this line? Name: Pamela Weiser-Prater I am the descendent of Ruth Virginia Barnhouse. Her father was Clyde Barnhouse and her mother was Thelma Backus Barnhouse. Clyde took his own life at the age of 42 (my mother was about 10 yrs. old) and Thelma married Ralph Jankowski. They had two other daughters, Donna Jean Barnhouse (who has also passed) and Joanne Barnhouse (who has also passed. My mother passed away December 23, 2004. In the years prior to her death, she and I did some extensive research on her genealogy. We kind of hit a dead end at the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, Ohio. There was a fire and some records were destroyed. I believe that we established that her grandfather was William (not sure of middle name) Barnhouse and her grandmother was Laura Barnhouse. We found that William and Laura were married in West Virginia and moved to Ohio. Mother had an uncle that died very young and we have been unable to find anything on him in Ohio except his grave at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. His name was Wesley Barnhouse. We was about 9 years old when he died and all we have is a picture of him being shown in their dining room on Chittendon Avenue in Columbus at his funeral. I would love to connect with someone that finds any of this familiar. My mother passed before we were able to really get serious and I so much regret that. She was like a little girl when we found any little tidbit of her family history. Thank you. Name: Janis Glenn I am doing some family history, and would like to know about the Noland Ferry House that your ancestors lived in. Thanks, Janis Name: Crystal I am looking for any information I can find on Lewis or Louis Henry Barnhouse. He went by the name Barney. I am his daughter and heard he had passed away and never had the chance to meet him. Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I know he had other children Debbie and Jackie (In California I think) but that is about all I know. He was in the Springfield, OH area for a while. My mom doesn't have very much information and it is a touchy subject with her. Thank you.
