BARNHOUSE, Elaine b: 5 Aug 1951 in West Virginia d: May 1985 in Cowen, West Virginia. I was wondering if anyone has established a relationship to her? I am trying to find the name of the daughter of Newman Oxier and Ruby Sill Oxier. The girl was born around 1950. She and Ruby both died in a fatal car accident, in Webster Co., on 5-25-1985. They lived in Cowen. When searching the SSDI the only two names that come up that are females with the Cowen, WV residence and a death date of 5-1985, is Ruby Oxier and Elaine Barnhouse. She may possibly be the daughter I am looking for and possibly married to a Barnhouse. If you could tell me of who Elaine is, I would greatly appreciate it. My name is Ryan Kasler, My grandmother was a Barnhouse and I have been researching her family line, but can find nothing about her great grandfather, Shepherd Barnhouse, except that he was born on September 8, 1842 in Eastern Ohio and then married Alvira Kean. His son, Cramblit is my great great grandfather. Shepherd evidently moved to the northern panhandle of West Virginia, around New Cumberland as that's where all the census records are from. I saw there were a large number of Barnhouses in West Virginia as well as in Carroll Count and Tuscarawas County, Ohio ... both of which are in the eastern part of the state. He is the only one that I have so far that was born in 1848 with an initial of R. I have a few pictures of headstones that I took when we went to Ohio earlier this year.
