OBITUARY:
Information from Obituary:  "City Employee, 44, Takes Own Life. Clyde BARNHOUSE Inhales Gas at His Home. Inhaling gas fumes through a mask he fashioned from a paper bag and hose, Clyde Barnhouse, age 44, stockroom manager of the city disposal plant, took his life in the bathroom of his home at 270 Chittenden avenue, police reported Monday. The victim was found by his wife, Thelma, who awakened Sunday morning and went to investigate when she smelled gas escaping. Mr. Barnhouse had place a paper bag over his face and ran a rubber hose from the bag to the gas heater, Coroner E. E. Smith said. Emergency Squadmen attempted unsuccessfully to revive Mr. Barnhouse. The body was removed to the Cook & Son chapel where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Union cemetery. A native of Columbus, Mr. Barnhouse had been an employee of the city for many years but just recently took the position at the disposal plant. He was a member of the York Lodge of Masons and Broad street Church of Christ. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Donna Jean, Ruth and Josephine all at home."

Information from Obituary: JOHN AMOS DIXON, son of Thomas and Chloe Arbaugh Dixon was born at Vales Mill, Ohio and departed this life at University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio September 12 1980 aged 62 years, 6 months and 17 days. He was one of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Gilbert, who died in the service during WWII; Emmett and Clarence. Also one son, Roger, predeceased him.  He was married to Carolyn June Chesser August 12, 1938 and eleven children were born to their union, ten of whom survive. They established their home in Vinton County and for the last several years have resided in Dundas. He had been in ill health for several years, but his last illness was for only a few weeks. He is survived by his faithful wife; three sons: Carroll of Canal Winchester, James of Peebles and John Jr of Hilliard; seven daughters; Judi Harvey, Wellston; Patricia Canada, Hamden; Jane Harvey, Radcliff, Christine Crawford, Columbus; Helen Secoy, Wellston; and Jennifer and Tonya at home; nineteen grandchildren, two sisters Elizabeth Elliott and Vivian Perry of Albany; two brothers Arch Dixon of Athens and Harold Dixon of Albany, besides several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Tuesday at 2 pm at the Boring Chapel Church by Rev. A. B. Maloy. Burial was in the Bowen Cemetery.

Born Vales Mills, he was the son of the late Thomas and Chloe Arbaugh Dixon. Mr. Dixon had been employed at Athens Building Materials for 30 years as an equipment operator. He attended Vinton Rural High School and was a former resident of Pt. Rock. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Hill Dixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Gary Filinger of Athens; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gilbert and Connie of Athens, and Tom and Pam of Toledo; seven grandchildren and two sisters, Elizabeth Elliott and Vivian Perry of Albany.

    Mrs. Roseanna Mae PERRY, Radcliff, died early Tuesday morning, March 5th in Hocking Valley Hospital, at the age of 70.
    Mrs. PERRY was born Feb. 21, 1893 in Vales Mill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven BOWEN. Her husband Ernest was killed in an explosion at Austin Powder Company in 1946.
    She is suvived by nine children:  Leslie, Marion, Manring, Delbert, and Milford PERRY, all of Radcliff Rt. 1; four daughters, Mrs. Laura McLAUGHLIN, Zaleski; Mrs. Ora BARNEY, Radcliff; Mrs. Evelyn MOLIHAN and Mrs. Redith DEPUE, McArthur; 57 grandchildren and 11 great; three sisters, Flora ARBAUGH, Columbus; Edna BOLTON, Piqua and Alma HOYD, Carpenter.

   "Roseanna Mae BOWEN PERRY daughter of Stephen and Margaret BLACK BOWEN, born February 21, 1893 in Vinton Township near Vales Mills, Ohio, and departed this life at Hocking Valley Hospital, Logan, Ohio, March 5, 1963, age 70 years and 1? days.
    She was united in marriage to Earnest PERRY February 3, 1909 and to this union was born ? children. Her husband and two children preceded her in death.
    Since the tragic death of her husband August 10, 1946, we could see an empty spot of loneliness, but with her hope and faith placed in God she went without fear. Her son Milford and wife Donna have done so much to brighten her life.
    She was a devout Christian since early childhood and was a faithful member of the Boring Chapel United Brethren Church.
    Her constant prayers were that all her children might find Christ so the family circle would be unbroken in heaven.
    She leaves to mourn their last nine children:  Leslie and Marion of Carpenter, Ohio; Maring, Delbert, Milford and Ora of Radcliff, Ohio; Redith and Evelyn of McArthur, Ohio; Laura of Zaleski, Ohio. 52 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Flora ARBAUGH, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Alma HOYD, Carpenter, Ohio, and Mrs. Edna BOLTON, Piqua, Ohio. Also, a host of relatives and friends, many who thought of her as 'Mother'.

Mr. BARNEY worked for the former McArthur Brick Company, and was a member of Black Oak Freewill Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the Asiaic Theater. He was a member of the Jackson DAV 45. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Ora Perry BARNEY; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bob ERVIN of Wellston; Pam and Bobby EAST of Albany Route 3, and Vicki and Danny Tripp of Mt. Gilead; a daughter and her friend Shelba MURPHY and Charles WHITE of Londonderry; five sons and daughters-in–law, Earl Edward amd Chris BARNEY of Albany Route 3; David and Elaine BARNEY of Mt. Gilead; Jerry and Janet BARNEY of Wilkesville; Mike and Mary Jo BARNEY of Allensville; and Randy and Teresa of Glouster; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie (Mary) BROWN of McArthur Route 1, and Mrs. Bud (Bernice) SNYDER of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Sadie BARNEY of McArthur Route 2; a brother John BARNEY of South Bloomingville; 27 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, Paul, Harley and Willis BARNEY; and a sister Iva Henderson WORRIX.

Ethyn will be missed by maternal grandparents Robert East of Albany, Thomas Arthur of Arizona and Pamela East of Albany; paternal grandparents Linda Thomas of Zaleski and Dennis Gross of Chauncey; maternal great-grandparents Ora Barney of Radcliff, Grace East of Albany, and James and Georgia Arthur of Wellston; and paternal great-grandparents Irvin and Doris Cozort of West Virginia. Ethyn also will be missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandfathers Earl Barney and Richard East, and paternal great-grandparents Dorothy and George Gross. Graveside services will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Bowen Cemetery, with the Rev. Edward Barney officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Garrett Funeral Home, McArthur.

    She was born January 11, 1928 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Ernest and Rosanna BOWEN PERRY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Redith DEPUE and Maude WEYANT; five brothers, Leslie, Marion, Manring, Lawrence and Milford PERRY; two granddaughters; and one great granddaughter. She is survived by her husband, James Junior MOLIHAN; four daughters and sons-in-law, Nora Mae and Gerald SEITZ of Rt. 1 McArthur, Shirley Faye and Roy COLEMAN of Rt. 2 McArthur, Rebecca Jean and Dan CASTOR of Rt. 2, McArthur, Laura Louise and Mike RIDDLE of Hamden, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Jackie MOLIHAN of Wellston; sons Marion and Danny MOLIHAN of Zaleski; 21 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Danyel CASTOR who cared for Mrs. MOLIHAN in her home; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Laura McGLAUGHLIN of Zaleski, Ora BARNEY and Delbert PERRY of Radcliff.
    Funeral services were held 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at Blower-Garret Funeral Home with Rev. Edward BARNEY officiating. Burial was in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, Ohio."

    Norma Edna BOWEN BOLTON, 84, of 5359 Karafit Rd., Celina, Ohio, formerly of near Albany and Piqua, passed away November 28, at the Community Hospital in Coldwater, Ohio, where she was a patient for two weeks following a stroke.
    Born in Vinton County on April 19, 1899, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret BLACK BOWEN. She was united with the Boring Chapel United Brethren Church near Vales Mill at an early age.
    Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Keith (Madeline) STANEART, Albany; Mrs. Robert (Wavolene) REED, Piqua and Mrs. Richard (Peggy) PURK, Celina; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Arch BOLTON and Floyd BOLTON, four sons, two daughters, one grandson, one granddaughter, four sisters and two brothers.
    Services were conducted on Tuesday at Jamieson Funeral Home in Piqua and will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany with the Rev. James STEWART and Rev. Arthur CRABTREE officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bowen Cemetery near Vales Mill.
    Friends may call between 2:00 and 4:00 and 7:00 and 9:00 on Wednesday."
