General Guidelines for Good Citation

Published record abstracts, please cite:

1) Name of author or compiler 2) title of book 3) place and date of publication 4) name of publisher.

Original record abstracts, please cite:

1) Jurisdiction - name of city, county, or state 2) type of record set (ie. wills, census, marriage) 3) volume or book number 4) page number.

The best way to set sensible guidelines for documentation is to document your abstractions so that either you or anyone else could easily find the record again.
