ObituariesCarmen Lynn Woods BARNHOUSE, 37, of Waverly died Tuesday at Passavant Area Hospital, Jacksonville. She was born April 22, 1955, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Clifford and Beatrice Crank Woods. She married Amos Barnhouse in 1992 in Springfield. Mrs. Barnhouse was employed by SIS Insurance. She was a graduate of Waverly High School, Brown's Business College and Lincoln Land Community College. She was involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts. She was a tutor at Lincoln Land Community College and had worked at Presbyterian Nursery School and as a cake decorator at the Morgan County Fair. Mrs. Barnhouse was a member of Waverly Christian Church. Surviving are her husband, Amos; a son, Brad Hemming at home; a stepson, Mike Barnhouse of Waverly; parents, Clifford and Bea Woods of Waverly; and a brother, Mike Woods of Auburn. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Waverly. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery. She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Eliza Township, near Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Ruth Hallsted BARNHOUSE. She married John A. Nudo in 1958. Mrs. Nudo was a resident of Springfield since 1953. She was a teacher for District 186 from 1953-1982, working at Stuart, Butler and Iles schools before her retirement. She was a member of St. Agnes Church and Retired Teachers Association. Survivors: husband, John A.; a daughter, Mrs. George (Sarah) Colburn of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jack (Barbara Nudo) Veghte of Clearwater, Fla.; two stepsons, Ronald Michael Nudo of Signal Mountain, Tenn., and John J. Nudo of Springfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Beryl) Crose of Aledo; two brothers, Floyd BARNHOUSE of Winamac, Ind., and Charles BARNHOUSE of Coal Valley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. St. John's Hospital. She was born June 17, 1907, in Reedsville, Ga., the daughter of
Stephen Wesley and Elizabeth Blankenship Sikes. She married Harry BARNHOUSE in 1941; he
preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. BARNHOUSE was a resident of Springfield most of
her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Kumler United Methodist Church.
Survivors: two daughters, Virginia Morgan of Springfield and Miriam Koratsky of Augusta,
Ga.; a son, Raymond Morgan of Springfield; two grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. Services: Private family services were held, the Rev. Jack
Cramer-Heuerman officiated. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
